Rodin and the Decorative Arts, Musee Rodin, Paris, France
This exhibition is within the temporary exhibition space in the Musee Rodin. It provides a chronological overview of the development of Rodin's work in the decorative arts.
For those of us that have been exposed only to his end of career works this is quite a revelation. His works start with a decided conservative approach, finely worked and delecate, searching the surface of the subject rather than expressing inner meanings.
I'm not partial to the later more experimental work so found the earlier material of more interest. Particularly the fiance work done in cooperation with other decorative artists.
Well worth the visit but to justify the price visit the musee as well, or stroll in the magnificent gardens.
