Palettes for Artists

The Gallery produces palettes to order for artists, examples are on display at the SOAG Gallery, Tighes Hill. The process of design to your requirements can take up to two weeks from the time of receiving your request. Once you approve the design we will take three weeks to make the palette and dispatch it after receiving payment from you.

Standard Size Palettes

The gallery produces a range of palettes that are made for specific arm lengths. These palettes are made by hand and have the same level of ergonomic design consideration in their development. These palettes are not made for an individual but will work well unless long periods of work are undertaken. These palettes are made when ordered, we do not keep stock items to minimise green house impact.

To order a palette simply select the button next to your arm length. Your arm length is measured from the inside elbow to base of the thumb. provide this size in the comments field when paying. Delivery should be within three weeks, if it will take longer we will contact you by email. The price of the palette includes postage by surface post.

All Standard Size Palettes currently cost $30 AUD.

Made to Order Palettes

The gallery provide a quote for your custom palette. To enable us to provide you with a quote you need first to provide the following in an email (following customer requests we will convert this process to an online form in the new year).

1. The measurements from your rist to the tip of the thumb and index finger, plus from the wrist to the web between thumb and finger. A digital photograph showing your hand spread flat on a table with a ruler laid next to your palette hand can replace these measurements, provided the ruler can be read in the photo. These measurements enable us to design for the size and shape of your hand. To ensure we get the design right please indicate if you prefer to carry the palette with your left or right hand.
2. An outline of the number of colours you want to carry on your palette, as well as the quantity of those colours.
3. The measurement from the tip of your thumb to the inside elbow joint. Your thum should be laid flat parallel to your fingers when taking this measurement.
4. Give us your contact details, this means give us the details you want to provide so we can contact you but we need your email address to send proposed shapes for your approval.
5. Indicate how many hours per day you work, without this we assume you work eight hours per day and design the palette around this length of time.
6. Tell us of any special requirements you have that you need to have incorporated into the design of your palette.

Our palettes cost between $60 and $200 for the first unit. Follow up orders would generally cost between $20 and $40 depending on size and complexity. These price estimates do not include postage and packaging.

Twin clip-on dippers are supplied with the palette.
