Commentary:
This painting takes a modern concern with the plight of those who have loved ones away at war and places it in the context of the Trogen Wars. The outward tranquilty of the image is underpinned by the palpable desire to scream for the loved one to return.

The painting is the result of preliminary work done during a 2007 journey through Greece in October, the light is subdued as is the sea colour. The location is about 20km south of the Corinth Canal looking towards Athens.
